Did you know organic mangoes result in lesser heat boils than artificially ripened and chemical ridden mangoes

Important: Do not disturb the package before the opening date. Interrupting the ripening process can halt it, leading to unripe, potentially rotting fruit. Once halted, further attempts to ripen by placing it back in the paddy or applying heat will only cause rotting, not ripening.

Ripening and Opening Instructions:

  • Your mangoes are packed with specified packing and opening dates to ensure they ripen perfectly. Open on the suggested date for the best experience.
  • Mangoes ripen naturally, converting sour compounds into sugars in a warm, undisturbed environment.
  • Packed in rice paddy to maintain warmth, Alphonso mangoes develop their full spectrum of color, softness, and aroma under these ideal conditions.

Storage Instructions:

  • Store in a Warm Place: Keep the mangoes in a warm area until the opening date to facilitate ripening. Avoid Direct Heat: The mangoes should not be placed in direct contact with heat sources; the ambient warmth of the room is sufficient.
  • Once ripe, you can move the mangoes from the rice paddy to the fridge, where they will stay fresh for 1-2 weeks.
  • Assess each mango's ripeness after the opening date based on its color and firmness, starting with the ripest mangoes first.

Consumption:

  • It is recommended to soak the mangoes for 2-3 hours in water before eating to dissipate excess heat.
  • When choosing ripe mangoes, look for ones that exhibit a blend of orange, yellow, and green hues. The stalk will emit a distinct smell, and the fruit will become slightly softer.
  • Alphonso mangoes peel easily, allowing you to enjoy them with little need for cutlery. These mangoes are delightful both as cut pieces and in AamRas.

1. What is the difference between organic and non organic mangoes?

Mango plantations have one of the highest use of chemicals for pest control some of which are cancer causing. Mangoes are then ripened at a very fast rate using carbide or ethylene chambers. 98% of the mangoes available in the market are grown using some or the other chemical. Even many people who claim organic do so without any transparency or traceability.

Organic mangoes are grown using organic inputs strictly. Care is given on soil health particularly. They are naturally ripened in rice paddy only without any help of chemicals

2. How can I differentiate between organic and chemical mango

Sadly there is no way of knowing which chemicals have been used while growing the mangoes. But we can know whether the mangoes are ripened naturally or using chemicals.
Organic Alphonso mangoes are never 100% yellow. They have a orangish hue at the top and have shades of yellow and green mixed. Bright yellow mangoes are generally artificially ripened and treated with chemicals for the enticing look.

3. Wont the mangoes get spoilt while shipping?

No, We ship the mangoes freshly plucked and raw. The mangoes naturally take 5-7 days in the rice paddy to ripen on their own. In this time they ripen and reach your home
After ripening they have a shelf life of upto 7 days outside and 15 days in the refrigerator

4. In how many days will I get my shipment?

It takes 3-5 days for the shipment to reach your place depending on how far it is from Maharashtra. Your mangoes will remain intact during this period

5. What if the mangoes are spoiled?

In case of spoilage, please record a video of the spoilt part and contact us. We will compensate for the spoilage.

6. What is so special about Devgad and Ratnagiri Alphonso

Alphonso mangoes are named after Afonso de Albuquerque, a Portuguese general who took Goa. Originating from an unexpected event, his fleet brought Brazilian mango seeds to Goa, India. These seeds, planted in Konkan coast soil rich in unique minerals and touched by the Arabian Sea's salty air, produced the hybrid Alphonso mango. The unique red laterite soil along with the salty air of Devgad and Ratnagiri make the mangoes unique with a GI tag. A geographical indication (GI) is a sign used on products that have a specific geographical origin and possess qualities or a reputation that are due to that origin.

Smooth and creamy with a soft skin of deep marigold, Alphonso mangoes are considered to be the pinnacle of mangoes, with a superior taste, flavour, texture and sensation to all others. True king of all mangoes
